An in-detph conversation on The Star

If one my fans don't know what The Star is about, then I'll give you a short summary. It is all about an astrophysicist and his team go to the aftermath of a supernova in a distant galaxy where they find the remnants of an extinct civilization. Today in class we discussed about what makes this short story such a good one to read. From the notes that took that day, it seems that the biggest topic was how religion and science cannot co-exist. Science always makes facts into theories and laws, but religions always make laws into facts. In the short story, the astrophysicist finds proof that the star of Bethlehem was also the supernova and/or the destruction of a human-like civilization. Since the astrophysicist is also a man who devoted his life to Jesus, he asks himself ehy would God destroy another race to show the birth of the king of Israel. The contraversy is that in The Star, religion proves that the star of Bethlehem was true, but they figured it out in a scientifical way. This could mean that the birth of Jesus and the supernova was just a coincidence that happened at the same time, but if that's true then that means that this religion the astrophysicist believes in could all be false. On the other hand, if this situation was not coincidence, but instead was done by the will of God, then why would he destroy a whole civilization that were similar to humans. God is known to be a merciful one, which creates an argument about if God really is merciful. If God is not merciful, it would disprove the religion....Because of the swelling developing in my skull, I'm going to have to stop thinking for a while.........

Why does the narrator asks if the crucifix symbol has power of any kind?
Why would a dead race of aliens want to leave their history for someone to find?
And why does the narrator believe that his faith has been tested so much that he thinks he has failed his God?

what is a "feed"

To continue the latest blog i posted, i finally figured out what a 'feed' is. Since they never told me directly, I had to figure out what is was on my own. The feed is a device that is planted inside your brain to create a "faster" pace of education. It can literally give you all the knowledge in the world, which makes everyone a super genius. An addition to that, the students mostly use it for new trends, the latest news in fashion, and other things relating that. Since it was basically created for educational purposes, practically every person in the world has one. The best thing about the feed is that it is not controlled by just one company, but instead three or four...

The Book that I am reading right now is called "Feed" by M.T. Anderson. So far this book hasn't really told me what it is about, but there is a lot of 'adult content.
